Gold serum separator (SST) tube

Immediately following collection, thoroughly mix sample by gently inverting 5 times

1. Allow sample to clot for a minimum of 30 minutes
2. Spin within two (2) hours of sample collection
3. Transfer 1.5mL of serum to a False bottom plasma/serum transport vial/tube (AHL)
4. Freeze

1. Spin within two (2) hours of sample collection
2. Transfer 1.5mL of plasma to a False bottom plasma/serum transport vial/tube (AHL), labelled as Lithium heparin (Li hep) plasma
3. Freeze 

Frozen (preferred)

Refrigerated - 24 hours

Ambient - 8 hours

• Improper labels (unlabeled or mislabeled)
