CD22 is a type 1 integral membrane glycoprotein, present both on the membrane and in the cytoplasm of B lymphocytes
CD22 is expressed early in B cell lymphocyte differentiation (at about the same stage as that of CD19)

Staining pattern

Cell membrane and / or cytoplasmic (cell membrane expression can be lost upon differentiation)
