All IHC stains will include a positive control tissue

  • CD22 is expressed on B lymphocytes
  • It can be used as an alternative B-cell marker to CD20 or CD79a
  • Diagnostically, CD22 is useful to confirm B-cell lineage in malignant lymphomas

Tissue

Submit a formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue

Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue block

FFPE tissue section mounted on a charged, unstained slide

Ambient (preferred)

AHL - Immunohistochemistry

Mo - Fr

1 - 2 days

Immunohistochemical staining and microscopic examination

If requested, an interpretive report will be provided

Specifications

  • CD22 is a type 1 integral membrane glycoprotein, present both on the membrane and in the cytoplasm of B lymphocytes
  • CD22 is expressed early in B cell lymphocyte differentiation (at about the same stage as that of CD19)

Staining pattern

  • Cell membrane and / or cytoplasmic (cell membrane expression can be lost upon differentiation)
