Analysis of MSI at 5 gene loci.

MSI PCR is often performed in conjunction with analysis of DNA mismatch repair enzymes by immunohistochemistry. Deficient DNA repair and MSI are associated with Lynch Syndrome, and may also be used to determine eligibility for drug therapy

Along with the tumor specimen, a normal control from the patient must be submitted.

The preferred normal control is a negative tissue block. If none is available, 5.0 mL of whole blood (ACD, EDTA or NaCitrate) may be submitted.
