Fresh frozen tissue

Biopsy/tissue (bone, bone marrow, fine needle aspirate, lung, lymph, muscle or spleen)

Also accepted: E-swabs and UTM (Universal Transport medium); Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues (FFPE, PET); non-blood body fluids collected in Vacutainer tubes without preservative; LAVENDER top (EDTA) tube.

1 cm x 1cm

Submit entire specimen, Frozen.

IMPORTANT!

Fluid or tissue for broad range bacterial DNA testing should be put in a sterile container by the provider at the time of the procedure.  This ensures that the specimen won’t be opened until it reaches the testing laboratory and prevents the opportunity for contamination

16s broad range bacterial PCR may be ordered on this same specimen, and will be performed at an additional charge.

2 MSO orders are required.

Please contact the laboratory medical director through Client Services if there are questions.
