Deletion 20q is a recurring abnormality in myeloid neoplasms, including MDS, AML, and MPN. 20q FISH testing is useful as a cytogenetic prognostic indicator in myeloid neoplasms. Of note, a 20q- in the absence of morphologic criteria is not considered definitive evidence of myeloid disease.
This test can be ordered individually or as part of the MDS FISH Panel. See the panel test for more details.
