Immediately following collection, mix sample thoroughly by gently inverting 8-10 times

If the sample will not reach the testing laboratory within 48 hours, a plasma sample must be submitted:

  1. Spin within 48 hours of sample collection
  2. Transfer serum to a False bottom plasma/serum transport vial/tube (AHL), labelled as serum

OFF HOURS:  Place red top tube in the Send Outs refrigerator bucket for day shift to process.
