Two specimens must be submitted; one in formalin and one in Zeus media tissue fixative.
Pathology Tissue Exam
1. After excision, place one specimen into a container containing 10% neutral buffered formalin.
Note: The specimen should be placed immediately in 10% neutral buffered formalin unless a frozen specimen is needed
2. Properly label specimen container and completely fill out the request form or answer all Excellian order questions.
Immunofluorescence (IMF)
1. After excision, place second specimen into Zeus media tissue fixative.
2. Properly label specimen container and completely fill out the request form or answer all Excellian order questions. Must request IMF in the description field for Excellian orders or by writen request on a manual/paper requisition.
