• MyoD1 is present in the majority of rhabdomyosarcomas (RMS), and is a superior marker for the less differentiated RMS
• Stronger staining has been reported in alveolar vs. embryonal RMS
• Normal mature skeletal muscle does not express MyoD1

Specifications

• MyoD1 is a myogenic nuclear regulatory protein that is normally expressed during embryogenesis, early in skeletal muscle differentiation
• Nuclear expression of MyoD1 is restricted to myoblasts of developing skeletal muscle tissue

• Cytoplasmic staining is non-specific, and should be ignored
