Patient preparation information:

Patient should fast a minimum of 4 hours; infants should have specimen collected before next feeding (2-3 hours without total parenteral nutrition if possible).

0.3 mL

Collection instructions:

Immediately after collection, mix tube thoroughly by gentle inversion, 8 - 10 times, to prevent clotting

Processing instructions:

Spin within four (4) hours of sample collection
Transfer plasma to a Screw cap transfer vial/tube (Mayo T914), labelled as plasma. Be careful to ensure that no buffy coat is transferred
Freeze
