Immediately following collection, mix sample by inverting 5 - 10 times to prevent clotting.

1. Spin within two (2) hours of sample collection
2. Transfer plasma to a Screw-cap polypropylene frozen transport vial/tube - 4 mL (LabCorp), labelled as Na hep plasma
3. Freeze

Red serum vial/tube, 5 mL

Gold:

1. Immediatley following collection, mix sample by gently inverting 5 times

Lavender:

1. Immediatley following collection, mix sample by inverting 8 - 10 times to prevent clotting.

Dk green Li hep:

1. Immediately following collection, mix sample by inverting 5 - 10 times to prevent clotting.

Gold:

1. Allow sample to clot for a minimum of 30 minutes
2. Spin within two (2) hours of sample collection
3. Transfer serum to a Screw-cap polypropylene frozen transport vial/tube - 4mL (LabCorp), labelled as serum

Red:

1. Allow sample to clot
2. Spin within two (2) hours of sample collection
3. Transfer serum to a Screw-cap polypropylene frozen transport vial/tube - 4mL (LabCorp), labelled as serum

Lavender/Dk green:

1. Spin within two (2) hours of sample collection
2. Transfer plasma to a Screw-cap polypropylene frozen transport vial/tube - 4mL (LabCorp), labelled as EDTA or Li hep plasma

Frozen (strict) - 14 days

• Gross hemolysis
• Ambient/room temperature or thawed specimens
• Specimens collected in yellow-top (ACD) tubes

Liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS-MS)
