Antibodies to native, double-stranded DNA (anti-nDNA) are found in up to 60% of patients with SLE, in almost all cases of lupus nephritis, and can be found in rheumatic diseases.

Immediately following collection, thoroughly mix sample by gently inverting 5 times
- Allow sample to clot for a minimum of 30 minutes
- Spin within two (2) hours of sample collection

- Transfer serum to a False bottom plasma/serum transport vial/tube (AHL), labelled as serum, within two (2) hours of sample collection

Negative
The titer of the anti-nDNA may decrease with successful therapy and increases in acute recurrence of the disease.
Screening performed at 1:10 dilution. Titers performed - 1:20, 40, 80, 160, and 320. Samples titered to the endpoint of 1:320 are reported as ≥1:320.
