This commercial sendout test is not on the Allina Health Laboratory formulary and cannot be collected, ordered, or sent through Allina Health Laboratory.

RBC magnesium has limited clinical utility and results are often unreliable due to processing artifact which will falsely lower RBC Mg levels. Serum Magnesium is the preferred test.
