  • Only one specimen tube is required to perform all ordered cytogenetics testing.
    • The more testing requested, the closer to the optimal volume requirements is required.
  • Immediately following collection, mix sample thoroughly by gently inverting 8 - 10 times, to prevent clotting

Normal or Abnormal with interpretation

MLL rearrangements are classified as unfavorable cytogenetics prognostic indicators in B-ALL according to NCCN guidelines.

A t(9;11) is classified as an intermediate cytogenetics prognostic indicator in AML.

All other variant MLL rearrangements t(?11) are classified poor/adverse cytogenetics prognostic indicator in AML.
