LAB12376
LAB12379

CK18

All IHC stains will include a positive control tissue

  • CK 18 is one of the most commonly found intermediate filaments in epithelial cells
  • This cytokeratin is expressed in single layer ductal/glandular epithelial cells, throughout the body (is not present in squamous epithelium)
  • This marker is often used to identify endometrial cancers
  • CK 18 frequently is present with CK8; mutations of these genes associated with these cytokeratins increase susceptibility to liver disease (cryptogenic cirrhosis)
