  • ABO discrepancies may require antibody identification and appropriate serologic or molecular testing to be performed as required. Each technique/panel needed will be charged separately.
• Rh
  • A weak D (Du) Typing is performed for the following
    patients at additional charge if Rh (D) typing is negative:
    • Rh negative OB patients with positive Fetal Maternal Hemorrhage Screens
    • Patients with Rh typing discrepancies
    • When an autologous unit was received and labeled as Rh D positive
    • When determining the Rh D test for paternal D antigen status

The Rh blood group system is the second most important blood group system, after the ABO blood group system.
