Detect presence of IgG to T. solium in serum if clinical suspicion of cysticercosis exists.

  1. Allow sample to clot for a minimum of 30 minutes
  2. Spin within two (2) hours of sample collection

  3. Transfer serum to a Transfer vial/tube with cap - 12mL (LabCorp), labelled as serum, within two (2) hours of sample collection

Negative (≤0.8 IV) - No significant level of Cysticercosis IgG antibody detected

  

Results 0.9 - 1.1 IV (equivocal) indicate questionable presence of cysticercosis IgG antibody detected. Repeat testing in 10-14 days may be helpful.

Results ≥1.2 IV (positive) indicate that IgG antibodies to cysticercosis were detected, which may suggest current or past infection
