  • Evaluating patients with vasculitis, glomerulonephritis, and lymphoproliferative diseases.
  • Evaluating patients with macroglobulinemia or myeloma in whom symptoms occur with cold exposure.
  
Sodium citrate (Na cit) plasma and serum
  
1.0 mL Sodium citrate (Na Cit) plasma and 3.0 mL serum
  
Serum and plasma samples must be drawn in prewarmed tubes and kept at 37ºC while clotting.
  

Serum

  1. Immediately after clot formation (keep at 37 ºC while clotting), spin and transfer serum into a Transfer vial/tube with cap - 12mL (LabCorp)
  2. Label the transport tube "PREWARMED."


Plasma

  1. Immediately after collection, spin and transfer the plasma to a Transfer vial/tube with cap - 12mL (LabCorp)
  2. Label the transport tube "PREWARMED."
