Patient should not be receiving Coumadin, heparin, direct thrombin inhibitors (Argatroban, Dabigatran), or direct factor Xa inhibitors (Apixaban, Rivaroxaban, and Edoxaban)
Specimens must be drawn prior to initiation of anticoagulants and thrombolytic therapy
