Detect antibodies to HLA Class I antigen, platelet glycoprotein (GP) IV antigens and to polymorphic epitopes on the platelet glycoproteins IIb/IIIa, Ib/IX, and Ia/IIa

  

Some low titer, low avidity antibodies may not be detected.

Not all antibodies to low incidence HLA class I antigens and  platelet-specific antigens may not be detected.

  • Use aseptic technique
  • Collect M - F only
  • Label Specimen
    • Patient first and last name (Use legal name.)
    • Patient medical record number
    • Date of sample collection
    • Time of collection
    • Phlebotomist identifier
  
  • Do not spin
  • Submit original tubes

If investigating Alloimmune Neonatal Thrombocytopenia, submit maternal sample.
