This test provides accurate pathological evidence to aid in the diagnostic evaluation of patients with clinical features suggestive of a synucleinopathy, including Parkinson’s disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, and related disorders.

Collection container:

A kit contains
- 3 mm punch biopsy tool, forceps, scissors
- 3 transport vials containing 5 mL of Zamboni fixative
- Requisition and specimen labels
- UPS shipping bag and label
Do not use other fixatives or buffers

Collection instructions:

Collect three (3) punch biopsies, 3 mm each, from the same side of the body
Approved sites: left or right Posterior Cervical, Distal Thigh and Distal Leg

Processing instructions:

Place each biopsy immediately into the transport vials (Zamboni fixative)
Label each vial with:
- Site
- Patient name
- Birth date
- Side
