This test is intended for use in the clinical management of patients. It is not intended for use in employment related testing.

 

Not the preferred method, as the detection window is shorter and detectable drugs levels lower than in urine specimens. Should only be used for patients that are not producing urine. Test of choice for optimal detection is Compliance Drug Analysis, 8742/LAB8742

Immediatley following collection, mix sample by inverting 8 - 10 times to prevent clotting

Dk green:

Immediately following collection, mix sample thoroughly by gently inverting 8 - 10 times, to prevent clotting

  

Plasma:

  1. Spin
  2. Transfer plasma to a False bottom plasma/serum transport vial/tube (AHL), labelled as the appropriate plasma type, within two (2) hours of sample collection
  

Plasma:

False bottom plasma/serum transport vial/tube (AHL)

Whole blood:

Dk green Lithium heparin (Li hep), no gel

  

Ambient (preferred) - 7 days

Refrigerated - 4 weeks

Frozen - 1 year

   Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles
