Collection instructions:

Do not use a gel barrier tube.

The use of gel-barrier tubes is not recommended due to slow absorption of the drug by the gel. Depending upon the specimen volume and storage times, the decrease in drug level due to absorption may be clinically significant.

Processing instructions:

Allow sample to clot for a minimum of 30 minutes
Spin within two (2) hours of sample collection
Transfer serum to a Transfer vial/tube with cap - 12mL (LabCorp), labelled as serum
