CK20

All IHC stains will include a positive control tissue

  • CK20 is found in found in epithelium of the lower gastrointestinal tract, urothelium, and Merkel-cells
  • CK7 and CK20 can be helpful in determining the site of origin of tumors based on the staining profile
Immunophenotype Tumor
CK20+/CK7+ Ovarian mucinous carcinoma
Pancreatic carcinoma
Transitional cell carcinoma
CK20-/CK7+ Breast carcinoma, both ductal and lobular types
Bronchoalveolar carcinoma of lung
Endometrial carcinoma
Malignant mesothelioma
Non-small cell adenocarcinoma of lung
Ovarian carcinoma other than mucinous tumor
CK20+/CK7- Colorectal adenocarcinoma*
CK20-/CK7- Hepatocellular carcinoma
Prostatic adenocarcinoma
Renal cell carcinoma
Small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of lung
