The 4Kscore Test calculates your risk for aggressive prostate cancer by measuring several proteins in the blood and combining that with clinical findings.
It can be used after an abnormal PSA result if you are considering a prostate biopsy.

4Kscore Test is not indicated for men if:
Patient must present with a completed requisition
Speckled top Serum separator tube (SST) X 2 (collection tubes provided in kit)
Kit/specialty tubes must be requested from the Central lab supply prior to patient arriving in the lab
Immediately following collection, mix sample thoroughly by gentle inversion, 5 times

Time sensitive: Specimens should be collected Monday – Thursday. Specimens must be received at the Central lab by 1pm.

The 4Kscore test result is the probability of finding high-grade, aggressive prostate cancer (Gleason 7 or higher) if a prostate biopsy were to be performed.
A 4Kscore <5.0 is associated with decreased likelihood of a Gleason score ≥7 on biopsy. Prostate biopsy is required for the diagnosis of cancer. The test is not recommended more than once every 6 months.
