Tests for total estrogens have been replaced by individual tests for Estradiol and Estrone.
Estrogen tests most commonly used in nonpregnant adults:
Estradiol (288) is the dominant estrogen in nonpregnant individuals and is the usual estrogen test for most adults.
Estrone (13327) is used in special situations, such as monitoring patients on anti-estrogen (aromatase inhibitor) therapy or postmenopausal patients on low dose hormone replacement therapy.
