Aspirin Therapy collection kit

Direct Venipuncture collection:

1. Using a 21 gauge needle or larger (butterfly is acceptable), collect tubes in the following order:
   1. One (1) clear top Vacutainer tube - partial fill 3 mL draw
   2. Three (3) Lt blue Greiner tubes; these are partial fill 2 mL draw tubes. Fill exactly to the black arrow on the tube; do not over or under fill
   3. One (1) lavender top tube
2. Gently invert each tube 5 times

Additional tubes may be collected after these tubes have been collected

Line draw collection

1. Discard the first 5 mL of blood from the line
2. Ensure the catheter is free of clots
3. Immediately transfer blood in the following order:
   1. One (1) clear top vacutainer tube - partial fill 3 mL draw
   2. Three (3) lt blue Greiner tubes; these are partial fill 2 mL draw tubes. Fill exactly to the black arrow on the tube; do not over or under fill
   3. One (1) lavender top tube
4. Gently invert each tube 5 times

Additional tubes may be collected after these tubes have been collected.

Do not spin; submit all tubes unspun
