Luteinizing hormone (LH) is a gonadotrophic hormone produced and released by cells in the pituitary gland. It is crucial in regulating the function of the reproductive system in males and females. LH levels are measured in conjunction with other reproductive hormones to assess reproductive development in children and aid in differential diagnosis and treatment of reproductive abnormalities.
