Immediatley following collection, mix sample by inverting 8 - 10 times to prevent clotting

  
  1. Spin,
  2. Transfer plasma to a False bottom plasma/serum transport vial/tube (AHL), labelled as Na Fl plasma' and refrigerate within 15 minutes of collection.

If unable to spin within 15 minutes of collection specimen must be placed on ice until centrifugation occurs and plasma is separated from the cells.
