Cold hemagglutinin titer
  

Detection of the presence of cold agglutinins in patients with suspected cold agglutinin disease.

  
Serum
  
  
1.0 mL
  
0.5 mL
  
  1. Transport blood immediately to laboratory.
  2. Incubate and allow to clot at 37°C.
  3. Spin to separate serum from cells. Do NOT refrigerate prior to separation of serum from red cells.
    • If there is not a 37°C incubator, allow to clot at room temperature and separate serum from cells immediately after clotting.

 

  

Gold serum separator (SST) tube

  
  
  1. Transport blood immediately to laboratory.
  2. Incubate and allow to clot at 37°C.
  3. Spin to separate serum from cells. Do NOT refrigerate prior to separation of serum from red cells.
    • If there is not a 37°C incubator, allow to clot at room temperature and separate serum from cells immediately after clotting.
  4. Transfer serum to a Transfer vial/tube with cap - 12mL (LabCorp)
