CD7 by IHC
12376 - Technical only, 12379 - Technical & interpretation

All IHC stains will include a positive control tissue

  • CD7 is used in the evaluation of T-cell malignancies. It is the most frequently lost pan T cell marker in T-cell lymphomas
  • CD7 must be used in a panel with other T-cell markers

Submit a formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue

FFPE tissue section mounted on a charged, unstained slide

Ambient (preferred)

  • Unlabeled/mislabeled block
  • Insufficient tissue
  • Slides broken beyond repair

Immunohistochemical staining and microscopic examination

If requested, an interpretive report will be provided

  • CD7 antibody is a pan T-cell marker that recognizes a human T cell and NK cell 40KD glycoprotein
  • CD7 antigen is an early expressed marker that persists throughout T cell differentiation
  • CD7 is found on the majority of peripheral T lymphocytes, most NK cells, and on thymocytes
  • CD7 expression can also be found in acute myeloid leukemias

Staining pattern

  • Cell surface membrane staining
