  • This probe is useful in detecting a t(11;14) rearrangement
    • A t(11;14) rearrangement is the hallmark cytogenetic abnormality of Mantle Cell Lymphoma
    • A t(11;14) rearrangement is a known secondary abnormality associated with Plasma Cell Myeloma
  • This probe set is also used in the diagnostic workup of new CLL patients in order to rule out Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL), which has a similar morphologic presentation
  • This test can be ordered individually or as part of a CLL Full Panel or as part of a Plasma Cell Dyscrasia FISH Panel (see the individual panel test for more details)

Although not listed in the NCCN cytogenetics prognostic table, it is recommended to rule out a t(11;14) in CLL patients.
